Sometimes watching a video helps us to gain a better understanding of a concept or provides a bigger picture about something that we are learning. We have gathered together a handful of websites that provide free videos that can be used to supplement your studies.
NeoK12 – This website not only provides a large selection of videos for a variety of topics across most subject, but you will also find games and other activities to further develop a student's understanding.
WatchKnowLearn – There are approximately 50,000 indexed videos on this website, sorted into over 5,000 categories. Visitors can either search for a specific topic or browse through the categories as well as narrow video selection by age group.
TEDEd – You will find over 2,100 video-based lessons that can be sorted by age and or subject. Videos also include "Think" and "Discuss" questions as well "Dig Deeper" information. (Please note that if you want to use the interactive features of the questions, you will need to create a free account.)
The Kid Should See This – This site provides a collection of over 4,500 kid-friendly videos sorted into categories including science, tech, space, animals, nature, food, DIY, music, art and animation.
PBS Learning Media – This link should bring you to your state's PBS station's version of the page. There are thousands of standards-aligned videos, lesson plans and activities at this site.
